Soaring Higher: Our Partnership for Student Success

Dear Freedom Academy Families,

As we begin this new school year, I am filled with excitement and determination for what lies ahead. Together, we are revitalizing Freedom Academy—reclaiming academic excellence, strengthening our culture, and ensuring that every student is held to the highest expectations in both academics and character.

This work cannot happen without you. Our partnership with families is the foundation of a learning environment where students are not only prepared for the next grade but also for life. When we work together, we raise the bar—and our students rise to meet it.

To help us achieve our vision, I am asking for your commitment to the following:

1. Commitment to Our Uniform Policy

How we show up matters. Our uniform communicates to the world that we are ready for the task at hand. It also eliminates unnecessary distractions from our learning environment.

  • Fridays: Students may wear 2025-2026 Freedom Friday shirts.
  • All other days: Embroidered logo uniform shirts are required.
  • Student-athletes: Jerseys may be worn on game days.

2. Commitment to Our Zero-Tolerance Cell Phone Policy

We ask parents to actively monitor students’ use of technology, especially social media. These distractions pull students away from what is most valuable—time with family and friends, and the ability to be fully present in their learning. Presence and attention are essential for students to develop as learners and leaders.

3. Commitment to Healthy Habits and Lunch Guidelines

This year, lunches have returned to classrooms so that teachers can discuss nutrition and students can take responsibility for keeping their space clean.

  • Please do not order food through Uber Eats, DoorDash, or other delivery services, as this disrupts learning and creates unnecessary burdens for the front office.
  • No student will go hungry at Freedom; we keep extra lunches on hand.
  • Use this as an opportunity to help your child prepare and remember their lunch each day—an important lesson in personal accountability.

4. Commitment to “Heart to Speaker”

At Freedom, “Heart to Speaker” means eye contact, good posture, and active listening when someone is speaking. This is a leadership skill that, when reinforced at home and at school, helps students carry themselves with honor and integrity—qualities at the heart of a Freedom Academy education.

Families, I am proud to partner with you in this important work. Together, we will make this year one of growth, excellence, and leadership—preparing our Eagles to soar well beyond our walls.

With gratitude and determination,

Laurine Stafin
Principal
